Daily Schedule

We believe that a child's time is valuable, even a young child's. Therefore, we try not to waste it. Our daily schedule does not contain frivolous time wasters or the meaningless fluff so often used by schools to fill up a day. Rather, while the children are here they are engaged in the delightful work of learning. We also recognize that children, especially young ones, need ample time for play, rest and refreshment. They benefit greatly from unstructured time at home engaged in whatever pursuits his or her imaginations lead them toward.

Our experience with this schedule is that it allows for greater learning than would be possible with a five day a week, full-time schedule. Young children get tired and when they are in school too long, teachers end up spending a significant amount of time managing exhaustion. This often leads them to do things that detract from the overall atmosphere of the classroom, such as resorting to entertainment.

Under our method, children do their work while they are at school, and then go home for the rest and refreshment they need.

Kindergarten through Second Grade have an abbreviated schedule:

  • Kindergarten and First Graders: Three, full school days a week (T, Th, F) from 8:00 am to 3:10 pm

  • Second Graders: Four, full school days per week (M, T, Th, F) from 8:00 am to 3:10 pm
